    Semi-Transparent Custom GUI:
After checking out Rockmans Transparent UI https://forums.keenswh.com/post/transparent-ui-v2-7226247?pid=1285774213#post1285774213 I decided that I really liked the added transparency. I decided to mess around with editing the default GUI myself and try to add some transparency to it while keeping the rest mostly the same. This GUI does not offer as much transparency as Rockmans, it's meant as being somewhere in between the current and his.
Thanks to Rockman who inspired me to mess around with the files and also to have provided an example of which files to edit.
I'm not very good at editing, so this was done fairly crudely. Essentially all I did to the original GUI was change the saturation and darkness to some of the files as well as layer in some transparency into the previous opaque backgrounds.
    To Install/Download:
To install extract into your SpaceEngineers installation folder and let it overwrite the files.
Default Space Engineers directory is located here: C:\Steam\SteamApps\common\SpaceEngineers\
Note: You may backup the originals first, or just use steams integrity check feature to re-install and restore the originals.

[Updated Jan 2015 - minor tweaks, probably nothing noticeable. I did darken the background of the G menu's "right click", where you would set a timer or a sensor to "toggle on/off", I found that was a bit too transparent in the previous version.
    Uninstall:
To restore Orignial GUI you can overwrite the files with the originals, if you decided to back them up, if not, you can use Steam to reacquire them:
-Right click on Space Engineers in your game library and click 'properties'.
-Then go to the 'local files' tab.
-Click on 'VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE...". That will re-download and install the original default GUI.
