SERIOUS ISSUE! Turrets Shooting THROUGH own ship to target enemies.

    Quite simply, as the title says - both vanilla and modded weapons since the last update have been shooting THROUGH our own ship regardless of ownership. The turrets still target the enemies perfectly fine, they just do not seem to mind WHAT or WHO is in the way.

    Finally found someone having the same issue...

    VERY annoying bug, all my ships are drilling huge holes through the hull just to reach targets!

    I noticed this as well. My missile turrets decided to shoot into my hull to get a ship behind it and my interiour turrets were quite happy shooting into my Gatling ones. Quite a big bug here. Ownership is not an issue.

    Me too, i just have to deactivate the turrets that are not facing forward, or i end with holes all across the hull.

    Same problem here. The cargo ships do it to themselves too to get at me

    Yeah, it's a bit of a problem. I signed up to report it but I see I don't have to. My turrets just shot the control station from under me.

    It's pretty difficult to keep a base running now... people just fly by and the base destroys itself because it needs weapons on all sides...
    Also the dx11 full server view is not helping. Please fix it to respect the server view distance setting.

    this was reported last year and the bug persist. :U and the worst part (At least for me) is I came for the survival and stayed away from the pve or pvp stuff and now that I'm bored of the content in survival I was going to mess around with some pvp and pve stuff. Then I see my guns will shoot my own ship if are trying to shoot stuff that might be on the other side of my ship. maybe we should report the bug encase they forgot.

    Nope... It is very likely... Had the exact same issue again..

    My interior turret shoot down a assembler of mine attached to the same grid to shoot down a gyroscope that fall of an enemies ship and landed in front of my base.

    I think its related to a few other issues that occured here. Due to desync or lost updates turrets can even shot on blocks owned by yourself.

    For me, the bug occurs in Survival, when turrets shoot down spiders or wolves. They don´t care about the grid they´re on or my ships which are around.

    EDIT: For me, this occurs on 161 DEV Win/ 64 Bit

    This issue has been a problem for me as well, combined with the fact that sometimes the blocks you place will revert to ownership: "Nobody" it makes it extremely dangerous to build inside your base when you have active turrets that target anything that's not allied/friendly. I did this just recently, (have a ring of turret platforms around an asteroid base). It did not end well, as my turrets laid waste to my base in order to shoot the single block at the center. Incredibly annoying. I'm going to do my best not to get into a flame war about it on this thread! But I make no promises...

    Good job turret you just shot the solar array to pieces firing at a meteor that clearly missed the station........
    Now we can't generate anymore power and we're all going to die....

    Good job turret.....







    side note: this didn't used to happen right? didn't it not shoot itself only attempt to fire though other ships?

    I'm going to bump this thread until they fix the bug. Don't test me Keen. I have a lot of free time and few obligations.

    It's a recurring bug. Keen fixes it, the fix lasts for a while, and then it comes back. Such is the fun of in-development games; squash one bug, and three more appear.

    I remember a time when you could race across planet surfaces with wheeled ships......now........it seems going even over 100 m/s has a chance to summon a strange form of clang where your car or the planet stops colliding for a moment and you noclip into the planet.....it wears off within moments ether crashing with whatever speed you were going or in rarer cases you'll find inside the planet and keep falling.....other times you'll bearly fall into the planet and your car will do a strange jump or turn even though you were on flat ground...

    I've informed the admins with 2 examples and got confirmation they're working on it.

    Hi guys,
    Thank you very much for your feedback. I have tried to reproduce the bug, but my turret didn't shoot through my own grid. But it is possible it may be some miscalculation in leading the target or something like that. Please, can you upload some world or blueprint, where the bug is happening? It would be very useful in order to get rid of this problem.

    I've uploaded my world as "Turrets shoot through everything in update 1.180.0" with visibility "hidden".

    Wow. Just... can't get them bugs to go away permanently eh Keen? Like zombies back from the dead they plague the living and there just doesn't seem to be any end to them.

    24 April 2014 the automatic aiming Gatling turret was added.

    2017.......still having issues...... you gotta laugh at that.

    like fair enough if the game has a crazy selection of weapons...but seriously
    -player rifle and the delicious choice of 3 other rifles.
    -manual Gatling gun
    -manual rocket launcher
    -auto Gatling turret
    -auto rock turret
    oh of course
    -the interior turret

    It seems that subgrids like wheels etc are causing the issue and are being ignored by the turrets. Thank you very much for your feedback, the problem has been reported to the programmers.
