It appears to me that a lot of the small grid blocks are better than their larger counter parts. The Timer block and Programming Blocks are the best examples of this. Even though the Large Grid counter parts of the small grid Timer and Programming Blocks are equivalent in cost they are not equivalent in size. I read another forum post about Small Grid batteries being superior to their larger brethren, but that was back in Autumn so I don't know if that's obsolete.

Am I going crazy? Or has this issue been addressed?
I heard that they are doing some special planning for the Large Block timer.
Any thoughts on how thoughts on how they should balance the grids?

Right now Smaller grids take up less space even when made in mass they perform better than their larger counter parts even for the same grid mass.

Still plenty of issues with small grid blocks being better. I think they're wanting to look into this more going forward.

There it's a ton of low hanging fruit with blocks, their weights, effectiveness, material costs, etc. I suspect that everything will be changed quickly when it's finally looked at.

I think you're right, good thing they're decent with giving us information updates.
I read somewhere that the small conveyor hub was lighter in weight and it has more mount points. Kind of takes the engineering out of the Space Engineers given that it's safer to just build conveyor hubs. I still use straight-conveyors tubes because I'm of the belief it will be changed, but just a tad annoying when you're trying to make a transplanetary space craft shuttle only to have it double the weight of what is should be.

Does anyone know what they're going to do with the large programming Block and Large grid Timer block?

I know they made them cost the same as a band-aid. I think in a video they Keen said they're trying out various features for the Large grid timer block.

Think SE should unify both grid types into the small grid size. Large grid models will just simply translate as bigger blocks on a small grid. ie: a large grid 1x1x1 armour block would be a single 5x5x5 block.
That will eliminate a lot of duplicates, like programming block, timer block, camera, sound block, sensors...etc.
This will also add more flexibility when building ships/stations.
Coding wise it might also simplify things with only one grid type to work with. If there's a need to separate large ships and small ships, just use mass or grid size to determine.
