Space Engineers Roleplay Thread.

    Hey guys, welcome to the one-stop-shop for Space Engineers forum roleplay.
    In the interests of getting Paladin's thread back on topic with the mod updates I have created this thread for people to roleplay their fleet engagements to their heart's content.
    However it's not going to be the bloody free-for-all that Paladin's thread devolved into. There will be no ridiculous overpowered powergaming on this thread. You can't just drop your fleet out of warp and disable everything with a well placed gravity pulse.
    So here are the rules:
    1. No metagaming. i.e. using information gained OOC in your IC posts unless specifically stated by the person giving out information. If they're describing visuals fine, if they're talking about the setup of their interior systems then no.
    1a. To that end, no stupidly overpowered sensor systems that can read every tactical piece of information about a ship just by looking at it. Realistic sensor systems are fine.
    2. No powergaming. i.e. forcing outcomes of your actions on someone else. You can't fire your missiles and then say that they destroyed half the enemy fleet with no survivors, they have to make that response.
    3. You are not immortal, you are not mounted with every single damn system that can respond to every single enemy system with a 100% success rate. You can be hit, your ships can be destroyed. You can avoid hits and take less damage if played correctly, but you're not invincible and any ship found to be doing so will be struck down by the Hand of God.
    4. Bringing a new ship to the setting requires a quick technical breakdown of that ship. This information is given OOC and not automatically known to anyone else unless stated otherwise, in line with the metagaming rule.

    6x LE-14 Starbird (1 pilot + 4 passengers, 2 forward-mounted gatling guns)
    Systems info:
    Jump gate, smaller bottom-mounted external railgun array used for accelerating smaller vessels (Up to corvettes) to hyper-velocities.
    Planetcracker-class railgun, used for firing tungsten-alloy slugs with devastating velocity. 5 post charge up, 1 post cooldown.
    Solid-light barrier system, solid light technology can almost instantly create solid armour plating that can soak up one hit on use. 1 use per post.
    This is an example, since I'm not bringing any ships in to begin with.

    "Welcome to sector 101-319-005, this is the STC tower of the salvage and research station Styx. Please stay away from the wreckage and state your business."
    Styx is a large station, with an outer docking ring rotating slowly around the main hub, a large uneven, assymetric spire that holds multiple labs and plasma window protected hangars. Near the station is the wreckage of a large ship, a carrier or battleship maybe. It is broken and spread out, the large pieces held in place by an electromagnetic netting system. Small tugs and salvage craft can be seen darting about the wreckage. The wreckage itself, when a piece is large enough to show form, shows that of something very unhuman in architecture.

    Cost to upgrade:1-7 posts (depending on what you need)
    Small ships: cannot engage dogfights unless from pirates or bounty hunters
    Large Ships: cannot enter battle zones. (I am assuming that large ships will have warp)
    Fleets: Cannot enter battle zones, small ships are locked in carriers, planatery and medic ships are unlocked. (Emergencies only)

    As per to the terms of the Global Fair Play and other legalities, there may be a unknown delay as your request must be sent through our flawless quality checks. However be assured, you will receve somthing in return!

    Hello all, in my haste I forgot to talk about our prices!

    As you can guess, we accept insurance claims up to carrier class-2 providing your e-papers are up to date and accurate.

    Now, we charge a low price of 1 jump point (already added to the prices in my last broadcast, also known as posts) which is used for our copyrighted jump-to-metal production house.

    Naturally there will be price hikes and drops according with wars and distances.

    As a small gesture to all, there will be a sale in a few days, stay tuned and register your fleets, you never know what can happen in warp space!

    I know. I write this becose some persons who know russian language can interested of this and visit out groupe in Vkontakte and translate all rules and ideas to here.
    Rolegame is realy fun cose it give reason to build ships and fight with others.

    I have to disagree, Its a community topic as its created and continued by the community.

    There might be more traffic but:
    1: theres more people to get annoyed there and less people here will probably care
    2: Less traffic = less people to muck things up.

    Not gonna lie, It's pissing me off that I see this thread & the paladin thread being constantly bumped to the top of the sub forum.

    Its been asked before, not like on the scale of shields and ultra laser cannons but its been asked for. Id join in but most of the time im too lazy. Either way I don't really care, if its there its there if it ain it aint.

    Wouldn't say im popular, I mean if I was then Xocliw wouldn't have a torches and pitchforks image at hand just waiting.

    "Unknown alien crew. This is the Research and Salvage Station Styx. We are willing to return your ship to you to avoid conflict, but we are intrigued to learn more about you. This ship is the first proof we have had of intelligent alien life, and now you have shown that you are living and not a bygone civilisation. We wish to exchange information in a peaceful manner once we return your ship, if this so pleases you."
    "Do not be fooled though, we are not taking the threat of conflict lightly. You have seen the first response to our first contact protocol, and more may come. We will not fire unless fired upon, so I urge you to take the peaceful solution."
    The comms die down, awaiting a response. But a ship telegram is sent out.
