Im no technical expert on the vrage engine or the spatialOS engine, but this video is talking about the kinda things we want in space engineers. Dynamic ecosystems and entities, unrestrained computing power in a massive world. Perhaps Vrage is already better? Perhaps Vrage can be upgraded to do things as well as spatialOS suggests.

We have the issue of too much going on causes lag in our servers, but this isnt asn issue for spatialOS, can Vrage be upgraded to copy it's methods? Can we make ourselves 200 player servers with large empires and hundreds of ships, rotors and battles all at once without lag? Can we have the space engineers dream potential we stayed loyal and waited for?

    Few things to note;

    1. I skipped through the video and I don't see any physical building of ships or anything and nothing showing actual physics involved IE objects responding to your movments like kicking a block across the ground in SE so this is not the kind of game engine a physics based game like SE could work on.

    2. Looks like a knock off of Destiny or something similar.

    3. EVERY sandbox game wants what you are asking for just look at what Star Citizen is having to do to get that to work.

    4. If you have too much going on in servers then you are doing too much in servers, curtail your dreams now and SE will work and be an interesting game for you.

    5. No one said SE was ever going to have 200 player servers, empires and all that nonesense. Multiplayer was only tacked on after players cried out for it.

Once you understand how the game engine works and what is involved you will understand the limitations of this and playing on a server will actually be for the better. I play with around 10 on a star system server. There are no empires or massive battles or any of that. Delve into the numerous threads on people explaining how this game engine works and its limitations. This will expand your knowledge of games for the better and give you proper and tangable goals to look forward to in SE.

such an amazing claim i gotta doubt it but is surely worth a look into.
    but for real.
its not always the game engines fault that it can't run a server.
sometimes....more than sometimes its the hardware on the computer the servers running.
people are quick to blame the game then their own rig. which i do find quite insulting if people jump to that point first of all.
    .
my point being...run a minecraft server with 50 players.
now run a space engineers server with 50 players.

spatialOS might just be able to run well because the players can't do as many wacky crazy things in SE than in that example.
and now to actually watch the video.

    edit:
now that i've watched it......................................................rust with futuristic guns?
runs multiple copies of unreal engine?

so.....how well can spatialOS handle voxels?
i mean if the game world never physically changes that greatly greatly reduces save files and all sorts of things. space engineers.....has to remember each voxel changed each block placed
