1.) Download this zip file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/5nhv7o7wjn0ud7m/SE-NoCrosshair.zip

    2.) Navigate to: C:\Steam\SteamApps\common\SpaceEngineers\Content\Textures\HUD
    • You will see two files: HudAtlas.tai and HudAtlas0.dds
3.) Replace HudAtlas.tai with HudAtlas(NoCrosshair).tai that I provided in the zip file you downloaded
    • To do this, Delete HudAtlas.tai and export HudAtlas(NoCrosshair).tai into the location in Step 2
    • Then rename HudAtlas(NoCrosshair).tai to HudAtlas.tai
    • After doing this, the folder contents should look as if they were not modified, as you've simply replaced a file.
And you're done! No more Crosshairs!

*Note that you will likely have to repeat this process each time Space Engineers is updated!

    =======================================================================

To revert back to having crosshairs, you can:
Idk why you would want to do this... Pros don't need crosshairs!

1.) Navigate to the folder as in Step 2 (Above) and delete HudAtlas.tai

    2.) Go into Steam:
    • Navigate to your Library
    • Right Click on Space Engineers
    • Click Properties in the drop-down menu
    • Local Files Tab
    • Verify Integrity of Game Cache
    You have Crosshairs again!

    OR

1.) Follow the same steps that you did to remove your crosshairs, except:
    • Replace HudAtlas.tai with HudAtlas(Original).tai
    You have Crosshairs again!

    ========================================================================================

Now go out there and start taking screenshots and making cinematic videos!

    Thanks for the information.

However I do like the crosshair for building, so that's a pity. I hope they will simply make the crosshair part of the hud, so it disappears when you delete the hud.
(sorry for being picky, this is awesome enough!)

I Get An Error When I Try To Play The Game With The New HudAtlas.tai, It Says that Encountered An Error And Shut The Game Off When I Enter A World. I Renamed It Correctly With The CTRL+C And CTRL+V And It Didn't Work. Any Suggestion?

Yeah, same thing for me. When I swap the files and then try to go load a game it crashes and gives me an error. Oh well, hopefully this will become a game option soon.

I've managed to make my crosshairs disappear. Using the modified file (at least in recent builds) just causes the game to crash. and the modded file is merely a file that is missing 2 lines of code. Deleting the code causes the game to crash.

what I've done is very simple, if you open HudAtlas.tai in notepad, jump down to line 17 which contains the line "crosshair.pngHudAtlas0.dds, 0, 2D, 0.251953, 10, 0.000000, 0.246094, 0.984375"

and I've just changed all the variables to 0. so either change it like I have done, or cut and paste this line "crosshair.pngHudAtlas0.dds, 0, 2D, 0., 0., 0.000000, 0., 0."

works for now. hope this helps.

    Hey!
    +1

Just poppin' in to give my Thanks! for this little tip regarding the crosshair.
It has been a real saver for producing some video clips when recording Space Engineers.

    - Though, you wouldn't know how to remove the yellow highlight over crate doors and control panels, would you?
They're not as annoying as the crosshair when recording, but it would be nice for more focused, cinematic screenshots.

    Cheers anyway.
