    Hello!

First off, love love love this game. Can't stop playing it! Keep up the awesome work devs!

Dedicated servers are amazing, however I can not seem to log back into mine now.

Whenever I try to log into it now, I get a warning that the game versions don't match. The client is slightly newer than the server (server is 1032014, client is 1032018) and I've restarted steam on both machines, re-verified game cache, no errors found.

Has anyone else run into this issue?
If so, has a fix been found?

    Thanks in advance!

Update your servers folks, there was an update. Make sure to save your worlds before restarting the server though, don't want to loose that progress

Ok, figured it out. When I originally set up this server, I used the zip file from the first release of the dedicated servers. Even after I installed the game with steam, the dedicated server was still running as a 'Service', which was starting with Windows (I didn't configure it that way, perhaps it does this automatically when you use the GUI).

So, after trying to delete the original folder, I discovered it was still in use. Traced the program down using Process Explorer, then killed the rogue SpaceEngineersDedicated.exe's that were still running. Re-ran the dedicated servers that were in my Steam folder, and it worked. It may still require to un-check the 'Compatible Versions' in your game client, but it allowed me to connect.

Steam cannot update a file that is in use, so you'll need to shut down the server, check the game cache to get the update for it, and then re-start the server.

I am using the dedicated server on another computer without steam. I noticed that, if I launch the Local/Console version of it, it opens with App Version: 01_032_018 but if I use the GUI Instance of it, it loads with App Version: 01_032_014. For some reason the GUI one isn't updated? I looked for any process for the server and ended it, recopied the files and still nothing.

I just found something odd out. I put the updated dedicated server files to a different folder and looking through the log it appears that when running the GUI version it is still accessing the files from the previous folder. When I renamed that folder it now wont start the server as it cant find the files. How come it just doesn't use the files from the path that exe is in? lol This seems like a problem if you ever want to rename or move the folder you had it in before.

Bumping this because this is a serious issue that completely prevents dedicated server use. Running in console or as a service launches the 01_032_014 version which prevents connections.

I've tried copying the zip contents, forcing cache verification, etc. The server was off during all attempts to update. We are renting a third party high-speed server (a general purpose, but high-performance server, not specifically a Space Engineers one). Currently the dedicated server is unusable.

EDIT: Okay, in order to properly update your server, you have to use the Remove Instance button to delete the new service completely. Leave Local/Console alone. Once the custom instance is removed, close the server application and check the integrity of the cache in Steam to force an update. After the update, open the server application and Add Instance with the same name as before. The settings should be the same and you can start the server with the 01_032_018 version.

    Hey guys!

Fairly new to the game and now I'we run into the same problems I think you are experiencing. So I formatted my computer and saved the world on a USB and so on so forth. I have no problems at all loading the map and playing around, however, when my friend wants to join we get a version mismatch error. I'we read all the posts and I'm not running a dedicated server. So basically I need a clearer answer how to tackle this problem. I'm not very familiar with windows services/programming etc =(

    Thank you !
