    Summary
This week’s update is all about more bug fixes and improvements, plus our new stable + development branch system.
We've made some fixes to meteorites, so should no longer spawn from inside planets and destroy your bases from below. We will continue to improve and balance them more in the future. Other bugs fixed this week include landing gears unlocking when merging a platform with a large ship, ore detectors missing a range slider, and weapons shooting even when disabled. There have also been more tweaks and fixes made to particles, and multiple crashes resolved.
Finally, this week we're releasing a new stable (and default) branch on Steam. No action is required from players to access this stable branch. If you would like to opt-in to the non-default development branch, you can do so manually via the BETA tab in Steam (see instructions below). The development branch will be updated weekly, while the stable branch will updated about once a month and should provide a more comfortable gameplay experience.
Developer's note: If you publish a mod, blueprint or world from the development branch, it will be tagged as “development” on the Steam Workshop. If you use these creations on the stable branch, you will get a warning message with a list of mods that may not function correctly.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

    Update 01.140 dev version
The development branch contains several work-in-progress planet improvements that are not ready to be moved to the stable branch - please try out the dev branch if you want to help us test them! :)
For those who want to access the dev branch (updated weekly rather than monthly) on Steam, you can do so using the BETA tab.

    Just follow these steps:
    1. Launch the Steam client
    [IMG]
    2. Go to your library
    3. Choose Space Engineers - right click
    [IMG]
    4. Choose "Properties"

Well, it's been a while since i was completely and utterly disappointed by Keen, guess it was high time.

And what about Dedicated Servers? Do I need to update the App ID to make sure we stay on stable? What do I change it to if I want the Dev branch?

Keep it coming guys! Also are we gonna get a description of what changes are made to the Dev version? I like seeing the updates to the stable branch, but at the same time I wanna see what you're adding via the dev branch cause I'd love to help test ;). Still would like an in game button to report bugs though. Easier it is to do the more bug reports you get. Heck I got no problem with your game grabbing system information like what my hardware is to send with the bug report.

well, if this gives Keen time to properly add things and fixes without having to bumrush, its fine by me, albeit Single Player is preeeetty stable (no pun intended, it really is) playing alone for so long is kinda burning me out, Multiplayer is where the moneys at, but at the current state of development in MP, id say theres still a long road ahead.

count me in on the Dev Branch indeed

I can see this stable branch being a huge issue for mods. When half the modding community plays development and the other half plays stable.... there's going to be an issue.

They named this update "Planetary Improvements," yet there was only one, maybe two if you count cyberdogs, improvements regarding planets. *sigh*

The WIP planets seem to load quicker. Still can't descend on DS planets with dampeners on in either stable or dev so no planet based DSs for now.

To fix exactly this problem they should have disabled mods from the testing branche. I've been linked ships with dozens, sometimes literally a hundred mods or more. Have fun waiting for those to update for both versions...

I just got on here to ask this same question. Will DS be able to only play on the stable branch?

If we are alone or not in the universe. No idea. It depends somewhat on the point of view. I could say that "we" are the people living on earth. In which case those on the international space station are "others", and we are proven not to be alone in the universe. Fishy proof, but whatever. Of course, could define "we" as people born on planet earth, in which case we are so
    far proven to be alone.

On the other hand, and still way out of topic, can i rightfully claim to be about 13.8 billion years old?

Two updates (basically) in one week from Keen isn't too shabby Rotal.

Maybe it doesn't have what you were hoping for, but in the end you know they will deliver.
    :)

    Edit:

Just like for me I still can't believe the glass still hasn't been addressed yet, just about everyone hates it but we are going on like close to 5 months now with jacked up glass... I know it will get fixed....soon.... lol

Hallelujah!!!! It's nice to see you guys are finally getting the hints that weekly updates are more annoying than convenient from a MP standpoint when an update doesn't go over as smoothly as you had hoped.

Been a while since I've said this but, Good Update!

Absence of proof isn't proof of absence. Mathematically the chances against alien life of any order go towards zero. The universe is too vast, too old and, apparently, too filled with planets to not have pooped out a bunch of life every other million years or so.

Parts of you. But then how do you define "you"?

So where are the DEV change notes kept?

How do we know how to keep up-to-date with the changes being made over 3 weeks of there aren't any notes?
