    Summary
Hello, Engineers! This week’s update contains some major improvements to the the physics engine and optimizations to voxel performance. Notably, wheels have been given some much needed attention as well as pistons and rotors. Standing and walking around on a fast moving ship should be more stable and you may also notice that you can finally use a piston as a moving platform. Before this update, you character would just slide off. Voxel performance has been increased by around 60% so you should see more gains in FPS on planets.
Lastly, we’ve released a Deluxe Edition of Space Engineers on Steam containing the official soundtrack, concept artwork and a first release of the game from 2013. This version will appear within your existing install folder so there will be no need to re-download any files when you want to switch between the bonus content and the default game. The config file and save games are also stored separately from the normal version.
If you already own the Space Engineers, the Deluxe Edition should appear with a lower price for you on the Steam Store ;)

Deluxe Versions: Where to find the additional content
Right click on Space Engineers Deluxe Edition in your Steam Library, chose properties -> Local Files Tab -> Browse Local Files
Or you can find the files here:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SpaceEngineers\FirstReleaseDLC
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SpaceEngineers\Soundtrack+ArtworkDLC

It is frustrating to know that the first version had functional ladders and now we can only get them through mods.

No mention of the completely broken dedicated server/multiplayer network issues and synchronization. Disappointing to say the least.

Rovers (wheels), pistons and rotors are all broken in dedicated multiplayer. Very noticeable on a planet, since rovers are primary vehicles there.

Also on servers with a decent set of mods, the clients are disconnected due to timeout as they're downloading the mod packages on connect. I assume the new netcode doesn't expect mod packages to take so long to push to the clients and assume they're dead connections. This causes many players (especially on slower connections) to have to try and connect many times before they manage to get in. That needs to get fixed ASAP.

Merging of subgrids is still broken, and blueprints with pistons and rotors still tend to have individual pieces spin wildly out of control.

Atleast they're more stable but broken.

We bought the game in alpha, we supported the game in several ways (many even bought ME just to support keen) and now, if we want to play the first build of SE, we have to pay for it?!? Seriously keen, really?

Yeeeeah.... @Xocliw guys, i know it's dirt-cheap, i'm putting it in my cart as i type, sure, but... it's a broken-ass unfinished un-anything shittied-out first release of a game that's already not finished yet... and you want people to pay for that? Other than supporting further development, which one might be inclined to wonder whether it's actually gonna happen now that we're in Beta with broken ugly blocks and a still-not-working Tapping, exactly why would anyone pay for that?

And while we're on that subject... let me quote the Shop description.

Sooo.... is this a massively bugfixed version of the game with only the features that arrived taken out? No? Of course not. It's the original October 2013-version, if that's to be believed, at least. This description is.... bordering to being intentionally vague as to the product's playability. And stability. And Tapping-ness. It needs about half a dozen "So Early Access it's typing "First"-Posts"-disclaimers.

Edit: since it's not really that clear in the OP: the First Edition is available as a stand-alone DLC for like 3 bucks, it's not only available in the bundle (still requires SE, though). It's not the world but it's kinda annoying, disappointing and slightly insulting on principle.

I find being offered to buy older version of a game I already bought some time ago... insulting. I bought the game at version .038 or so to support Keen as an indie studio. The latest offer is disappointing.

One might argue we should never have LOST access to it. Or any other previous content. (Ladders when? OH RIGHT. Ladders confirmed paid DLC.)
