We are introducing 33 customizable skin sets for your engineer, your tools and your weapons. It’s time to show off! On top of that, another brand-new block makes its debut in Space Engineers: A reloadable parachute block for both small and large grid!

    This week we've also added mod profiling, which will show a warning to players when mods are running slowly and causing the game to lag. The goal of this tool is to help players understand the problems which are causing poor performance in their game. Sometimes modders aren't aware of performance issues, sometimes they are. Either way, this tool can help you identify what's causing your game to run slow and gives you a chance to report it at appropriate places. As part of this update, we were also able to implement granular, per method, profiling for mods. This will make modders life easier when debugging reported performance problems. Unfortunately, due to performance overhead the full profiler adds, it is not possible to distribute the game with it enabled. In order to enable extensive mod profiling it is necessary to recompile the game with special flags. Our modders with access to source code can already do that today. We are currently exploring various options to get this profiler to everyone, even without access to source code or need to recompile entire game, and hope to release it soon.

    • fixed issue where grids that were cut off acted as if still connected
    • fixed trees grinded/drilled not falling down
    • fixed issue with corrupted world prompt message
    • fixed astronauts wiggly feet
    • fixed crash when two large moving ships crashed into the same voxel
    • fixed ore detector on top of piston/rotor not working properly
    • fixed assembler being unable to pull ingots from connected cargo
    • fixed IGC leak with radio antennas
    • fixed script diagnostics (error reporting) for Mods and Programmable blocks to show correct line numbers
    Hotfixes 183.017:
    • fixed game crash at the start of the game
    • fixed game crash when joining the server

    This is the coolest thing I've seen in a while. Looking good guys, keep up the awesome work. Can't wait until this gigantic 2GB update finishes downloading so I can test it out.

    :( Client keeps crashing on dedicated server load-in. I think it's the renderer? Not my area of expertise so I could be wrong. Bug report here:

    anyone know what needs to enabled it world settings for the mysterious containers to apear -- linked to cargo ships, random encouters, drones settings in anyway?

    They are always on, as long as you play survival. IOW, you don't have to do anything to turn them on.

    Now, if you want to turn them off, there's a hidden config option:

    <EnableContainerDrops>true</EnableContainerDrops>
    Just set that to false to disable drops.

    to note: the parachute blocks aren't 100% new and even the model looks the same as the previous parachute mod. it's just stock now. (perhaps with a few internal tweaks?)

    Great update. People have already discovered some hints about skins during the week and discussed them here in the forum. Pessimists were already ready to condemn KEEN for planning costly DLCs...
    Here you have the suits, gloves, helmets - all for free.
    Good example for unjustified ranting going wrong.

    Some of the material was captured before our artists finished their part, they have new models now so they are in line with the game's art style.

    Original author of the mod was "Draygo" - he also worked with us on the actual vanilla implementation.

    my point srtill stands: why use the Artists time on skins? why not Female Engineer or more Block variants, decorative Blocks?
