Update 1.183.2 - Beta Improvements

    Hello, Engineers! While we are fully focused on next major update, in this week's minor we are bringing bunch of fixes likes not spawning containers, small advance rotor head clipping through rotor body. This update is bringing a lot of crash fixes with various UI cases, resource distribution, copy and pasting of drones in MP and others. Perhaps the most noteworthy fix this update is concerning the visual bug for moving grids that was encountered by RYZEN and I7 users.

    Unfortunately there is no video for this week (greetings to Xoc).

    While we have no pun to end on this week, from Xoc, and I (I23I7) am not good at puns. Let us end on one of my favorite quotes:

    Fixes:
    • fixed various crashes
    • fixed issues with containers not spawning
    • fixed visual glitch when on moving ship
    • fixed incorrect translation for Chinese version
    • fixed issue with small adv. rotor head clipping through rotor block
    • faster loading for New Game UI
    • fixed Facepalm animation is not playing
    • fixed Stairs has odd triangles on right side of steps
    • fixed a bug when you start SE it does not get focus on your screen, if you are alt tabbed

    Well Glad to see some fixes.. I hope this will help with some of the bugs i reported too (Will test Shortly) .
    Nice Red Dwarf Quote.. Tho i will note.. Jack O'neill also quoted that in SG-1.

    (btw that quote in its self is a bad pun.... Though you said you was not good with puns!)

    part of me was brought to space engineers due to red dwarf.
    I love the intro zooming out on the red dwarf mining ship showing off its size


    and the outro song. a kind of cheerful song try to hide how lonely space can be.

    While I would avoid adding new content at this stage, it would be sweet to have black holes to encounter.

    Kryten: A superlative suggestion, sir. With just two minor flaws. One, we don't have any defensive shields. And two, we don't have any defensive shields. Now I realise that technically speaking that's only one flaw but I thought that it was such a big one that it was worth mentioning twice.

    I am still not getting containers spawning on my planet. I've been waiting for 45 minutes now (30 minutes underground working on base, 15 minutes above ground flying around). I am assuming that the containers spawn within some distance of the player, is that correct? I ask because I have numerous grids spread out over the surface of the planet, so I want to make sure they are supposed to spawn around my location and not a random grid.

    I have also not seen a meteor shower near my location as well, but I am pretty sure those are based on grid locations and not players. Still strange not to see any all of a sudden.

    Holy Clang's Singing Pistons, no! We don't need something that is, essentially, window-dressing. The only element it would add to survival would be, "don't go near it or your won't survive." If they're going to screw with the game physics like that, try something useful or interesting, like... water.

    They put GPS markers in your UI page. Regardless of distance, if they were spawning, they'd let you know. Meteors, last I saw, were still fired by the sun at your general location. Something sounds borked.

    There's already two black holes on the workshop. They're just tiny planets with immense gravity wells and no textures. Keen could probably impliment it in a few hours if they chose. One of them I believe has a script which deletes anything which reaches the "surface" to keep a server clean.

    Block toolbar still keeps resetting to the standard configuration if you switch between online and offline modes.

    Load any world in online mode, add blocks to the toolbar and save. Quit Space Engineers and start in offline mode, load the world and the toolbar has been reset.

    Did any sim speed optimizations make it in this update, by chance? I'm noticing that on menu (K) screen, and when "view"ing cameras, my sim speed drops down to ~0.5-0.6...

    Huge thank you!

    Auto-pilot works fine for me for large grids up to 1 million Kg. On ships larger than that auto-pilot can take over 30 minutes to line up with a waypoint for me.

    This has been happening to me since 1.182.

    Still happy, though :)

    Some of the most fun I've had in a while..... an ai fighter come in and attacked this cargo ship, it got really messed up so I killed the bad guy and then collected all the parts, everything was moving :woot:

    I am using this mod, it adds "kind of" npc's to the game https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=531659576

    I hope vanilla singleplayer survival mode gets something like this, except with actual npc ai characters...
