    Summary
Hello, Engineers! Today's update continues with improvements for our last major update. Plus we are re-introducing a rotor lock option back into the game - it allows you to completely stop a rotor spinning even when external forces are applied. The internal working of this feature is different from its previous implementation and fits the new physics system.

is that to say the issue with cargo containers on projection built grids?

Keep the fixes and stuff coming guys. For the most part this new physics has been doing well imo. Only major issue I'm seeing is that atmospheric items tend to introduce a bit more lag than they did prior to the physics overhaul. That's the issue i'm seeing anyways. I'm sure you folks will get it sorted soon enough. Keep up the good work folks.

I enjoy making wheeled rovers and i laughed when i set the power to 100% and the wheels went into orbit and i just sat there in a rover with missing wheels.

Is this the last major update to the game, or do they mean the most recent major update?

Does the new "rotor lock" also include safety lock for pistons? Either way, I'm quite excited!

U - Turn anyone? Test it before release and fix it before our patience runs out! after all thats what the CTG is for? I've had more game crashes in the last 2 weeks than in the previous 2 years! one even crashed my PC!

99 little bugs in the code,
99 little bugs in the code,

    Take one down,patch it around.

127 little bugs in the code....or in SE's case....9999 little bugs....

    Hey,

No this was the issue where when you pasted a blueprint on a grid (attaching it to it) then the grid's properties (like terminals and inventories) were not synchronized between server and client. This could be related to the issue you mentioned but that was not the fix intended for it.

    Hey,

Send us the logs and a brief description of what is happening and what you are doing before the crash.

    Thanks!

So whats different with the new rotor lock system? as I remember it was said to have caused more issues than solving them. Would love to hear how you guys worked around it! :)

Well, considering that A) The game isn't finished, and B) we just had a major uptdate last week, I'm pretty sure it's safe to say they mean the most recent major update.

Deductive reasoning for the win! ;D

Poor word choice on Keen's part. Substitute "latest" for "last" and it will make more sense.

So they went through, refined the changes like they said they would, and listened to feedback from the community. And now you're digging them for making a "U-Turn"? Major dick move!

Keen would do well to carefully consider the comments in that Skybox thread on Steam.

Great work as always, Keen, but...

Is anyone else having an issue with landing gear sinking into the terrain? I've tried this with mods, and in my "vanilla test" game and getting the same result.

    Gyros/grid-mass issue needs resolving.

Gatling issues need resolving ( able to point inside themselves, reticle overlay in spectator mode, appalling rate of fire on small grid version, hitting their own grid- friendly fire option is not a fix fyi ).

Block attachment point issue needs fixing- various blocks have missing or fussy attachment points when trying to add other blocks, or delete the block in question; I keep on deleting blocks BEHIND thrusters because for some reason Ion thrusters are missing physics shapes or something on the front face.

But keep up the good work... ( he said, through gritted teeth ).

Yes me, gear still sinking on a large grid with a piston attached subgrid and a small grid connected, same as it's been since the big update.

    light flickering still not fixed?
parts still not safe its settings (rotors, pistons, projectors assemblers ect reset after rebot)
    STILL NO SURVIVAL MODE?

wtf are you doing devs .. ignoring your community even more in the last days huh, keep in mind, WE made your company to this, what is today, without us, you had 0 money, without us, ME would not exist, without us most of you would be without job .. keep that in mind and start listening or you will suffer in future like many other companys did wich went the same way as you do right now

fix the f.... bugs wich are important like the 2 i named, oh and all those crash bugs im not going to name because those bugs are in the game since over 2 years now and still not fixed!
and give us the stuff you promissed us for the game! like a survival mode

Personally I have no issue with the Skybox, but I have to admit it's kind of hard to ignore the complaints.
When it comes to an aesthetic decision like this, complaints should be listened to.

Maybe we ought to have a Skybox competition.
(So Keen can throw in a 'submissions are property of Keen' clause like the last few times.)
Or at least a handful of options and a democratic vote.

    ...

@Daerqueside & @Sammson, hate to say it, but this isn't the bug report area.
There's two of you experiencing the problem so you've got a good case if you head over to the bug report area and provide a detailed report.

I'm gonna just assume the rotor/piston lock I knew and loved is incompatible with these physics updates and as such is dead and gone along with all the detailed cockpits and other interesting and fun stuff.

Have the physics vortexes, where DS players get sucked into a 3m space and become unable to move, been fixed?

Wheels fix is great. I am going to go try hopping on my server machine and giving the update a go.

EDIT: Getting dragged across the surface by Clang himself about an hour in. This is going to be interesting and slightly frustrating. Server/Client desync has become a large problem.

I can report that yes they work, in that they will lock the rotors in place. However any and all phantom force effects that the old safety lock system had negated are all still there and in full force. Swing-wing aircraft designs are utterly useless as clang still clings to life. Also rotor forces are pathetically weak regardless of shared tensors, allowing whatever is attached to rotors flail about even with max torque and brakes when in motion.

Game crashes when I close it..... I'm not sure why, it's been doing it for a few updates now.

    *edit*

I'm finding the sim speed drops quite a bit when welding a damaged small ship with a small ship welder.

    *editit*

The players hands are floating when looking down while being sat in fighter cockpit, also you can look inside your own neck / torso by looking down.

Before throwing "Insults" read a post thoroughly and consider from whom its coming from before replying! We were told " You don't need the locks because of the inertial tensor! now a week later the locks being put back in! hence U-Turn! that and the fact as I stated previously all the multiple crashes I have endured in the last week or so have been reported with logs attached!. As for being a "Prick" I have played this game since 2014 racked up over 3000 hrs played split between SP/MP on DS, been in direct contact with some of the SE Devs been on the previous SE forum before this one and been on this forum for over 2 years hence the 1200+ posts and the only reason I don't attach my steam profile to the forum is I value my privacy. I want this game to succeed just as much as you do I just don't want untested patches/updates dumped on the player base that make the game unplayable as I've been here when players couldn't even start the game between updates! So now whose being the "Prick!"? @darth_crunchus @Thrak Lurk more you might learn something? @12317 logs reported with the crashes mate.
