It doesn't look like the dedicated server (or at least DedicatedServer.zip) is kept in sync with the Space Engineers client version. I copied my zip file over to my server and was disappointed that I couldn't connect. After uninstalling and installing Space Invaders via Steam, that file was then updated.

Is this a known issue? Or did I do something wrong prior to my reinstall? Searching this forum for "incorrect version" pulled up no similar issues, so from what I can tell no one has reported it yet.

You could use SteamCMD to update your server. This does mean that the entire game will be installed on the server however.

Google SteamCMD for the download site, but the one-liner command you're wanting is:
steamcmd.exe +login (Your Steam Username) (Your Steam Password) +force_install_dir (Your SpaceEngineers Install Dir) +app_update 244850 +quit

That does make a fantastic shortcut, thank you. So now my problem is that doesn't update my server as much as my client.

Logging in user '[user]' to Steam Public...Logged in OK
    Waiting for license info...OK
Success! App '244850' already up to date

    And then in game:

    Error
Server has different version of the game. Your version: 1051011; Server version: 1051010

I can go back to uninstalling my client, reinstalling it, and copying over that zip file again, but that's an awful lot of work to do when updates are coming every day or two.

    --------------- Edit --------------

Okay, I think I have to remove and re-add the service after updating. I did a couple things though, and one of these fixed it. Using that command line, I created a new install folder, so I effectively had two executables on my system. The service was created using the old one though, so I removed that service, deleted the old folder, and recreated it using the same name. So with only one executable on my computer, I started up the server and was good. So maybe updates will happen without issue from now on? Now I just need to figure out how to make config changes sticky ...

It seems that after the hotfix yesterday (or thursday after patch) - my dedicated server wont start. It has the regular starting hickup, as it usually does - except it never ends now.
Any other servers not starting up?

What I do (on a linux dedicated server) is delete the tools/ dedicated...zip and do a verify integrity game cache check so that it only re-downloads the zip on my personal computer, then push the new zip to the server.
