    Hello Everyone
I proudly present to you the Warpdrive.
This is a true Monstrosity ( 30m x 7.5m x 10m ) and gets even your heaviest ship going at very high speeds in just a blink. It is meant for all of you who dont like the lack of goals in Space Engineers and since you spawn into the world in what seems to be a rescue Ship, you propably came from somewhwere and are now stranded in space and your goal is to get home, or atleast in a civilized area of space. And this is why you want to build a superluminal Propulsion system, in form of a warpdrive. this is of course not very easy and requires hours of work to gather the materials, build the ship and install the warpdrive. more exactly you need 5450 Steel plates, 900 construction Components, 300 Large tubes, 1200 Computers, 400 thruster components, 700 metal grids, 500 girders, 2000 small tubes, 200 motors, 2000 reactor components and 100 gravity generator components. Additionally you need to suppply the Drive with 300 Megawatts of power, wich is equivalent to 3 large ship large reactors. Also watch out with the operational End of the Drive, as it will heat up very significantly, melting everything behind it in a quite large area, including your spacesuit and your internal organs. Disclaimer: this doesnt actually make you go at light speed, thats not possible to mod yet. but if it would be possible this still impractical since there is nowhere to go. just pretend that you are going fater than 299792458 m/s okay?

    here are some pictures https://imgur.com/a/JWESw

as you may notice, there is no proper texture on it, just the default grey one. I have no photoshop, only gimp so i'll have to figure out how to do emmisives and such in there. but for now its just the grey.

here comes what you all have been waiting for: The Download Link!

    Mod Package: https://bit.ly/1dJX2cU

The Installer is bugged right now, you have to copy the folder in the zip file into your spaceengineers directory and click intergrate/replace on all prompts

Just drop the zip File in the Installer and it should work perfectly.

You are of course allowed to distribute the mod, but include my name and link to this post. Thank you.

have Fun with your new Drive!

Nice one.... I quite like the idea of it as a long term goal. But yeah get some textures on that and it will look really good . So is 186.9m/s the limit of it?

This is totally awesome but I had a question:

Does it use 300GW or 300MW? I imagine you mean MW if it uses 3 large reactors, but 300GW would require a monstrosity of a ship to house it (Awesome)

I increased the <flame scale> number, but flames dont show unless you replace a vanilla thruster :/

If you can create the 4(5) textures needed for it then I can combine them for you them together for you. Will need a Secular in RGB, a Emissive in Grayscale (dark = glow), Normal in RGB and Specular in Greyscale (light = shiny). You could also include a colour multiplier map (Painting) but I am not 100% sure how they work yet. But I have been paying with it off an on so I should be able to do something with it if you want it.

Ho, so that's why they don't show on mine ! Thanks for the tip!
I looked into your mod's files, it was really helpful.
Btw, did you got the speed just by madly increasing the power?

Not madly, I mashed the zero key very carefully!

no the top speed is still 104.4 m/s It just shows a higher speed because the acceleration is so high

A must for capitol ships. Especially ones that would otherwise be sitting ducks. I'll definitely be keeping this in my game. :D

Oh good you bumpe this thread. A few days ago i did some testing myself with modified vanilla engines where i increased their thrust and movementCoefficient values to insane magnitudes. The result were speeds of 50 000m/s and more. However the actual movement was still about 104m/s as traveling to a 50km far beacon did not take 1 second. So the "huge speed" seems to be a bug and the value of ~180m/s is apparently not the actual speed. To test this, just leave your ship with dampening off and check the actual speed with your astronaut. I cant really playtest right now :(

Now this thread is kinda outdated since with mass blocks and grav gens, one could engineer his own adjustable gravity drive

Why should nice looking engines that are unaffected by external gravity fields be outdated though them now?
They still are a fine alternative.

Have you reexported the model since the last update? it kinda broke a lot of custom blocks, and they have to be reexported from .fbx

They updated file format, or something. Blocks models just need recompiling, that's all.

has this been fixed since the april 10 patch? If not you just need to use the modelbuilder tool again.

If it 'just doesn't work', give him feedback he can use. Bug reports. PC specs. Etc.
