    UPDATE: dedicated server is in question. should the thread be moved?

    i am trying to figure out why my server stops when i am not logged in. first thing in question is me (config);

    there is a line <PauseGameWhenEmpty>false</PauseGameWhenEmpty> in server config. are there any possible reasons for this behavior? (let's leave server host policy aside for some time).

    Try it, I've had problems with one set taking priority over the other, also make sure the server is stopped before you change the settings.

    Some hosting companies have "launchers" too that launch with settings you set on their control panel page, these can be different to the setting for the world/server if you uploaded by FTP and so can set up the game wrong.

    Some serious trial and error with some of those hosting companies.

    it's not a problem - i can choose b/n web and ftp configuration. both have pause setting set to false.

    Have you console access or are you posting those settings from somewhere else?

    Only way to be 100% sure is to check the console when the server is loading.

    You should change hosts then. FPSPlayers gave me complete access to the entire game folder so I could admin properly. That's the best you can hope for with a hosted solution. You're better off with a VDS or VPS setup, which is what I have moved to. It's more $ but less frustration.

    +1 for full access to your files.

    Changing the SpaceEngineersDedicated.cfg file will have NO EFFECT on existing worlds. you have to update the sandbox.sbc file in the save folder for that world in order for it to work.

    Pause game when empty will stop the game when no one is logged in. That makes for a pretty slow game.

    ok. i got it. will try today to add it to world settings.

    to clarify: i will try to add it to the topmost section (as on the server config it is in MyConfigDedicated section). is it correct?

    the question was does it make sense in world config.
